David Cassil - Artist
As early as I can remember, I loved to draw. In architecture school, I found myself studying the paintings of famous artists as often as I would view the works of great architecture. Throughout my education and as a practicing architect, I was constantly drawing in perspective. While colleagues relied on floor plans and elevations to communicate their concepts, I presented three-dimensional images. In the face of a digital world overtaking the profession, I continued to draw. Now, after twelve years of studying with some of Utah’s most talented artists, I consider myself an artist with a unique focus.
For this June 2026 exhibit, I present a body of work that delves into the urban fabric of where we live. My desire is to leave the viewer with a recognition of place and time in
our ever-evolving cities.
